Saudi National Bank (SNB) is one of the largest financial institutions in Saudi Arabia. SNB required a translation company that could translate large amounts of banking documents without any errors while maintaining the highest level of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with financial regulations. In this project, every document should be translated from English into Arabic or vice versa according to Saudi Central Bank standards.
Alsun Arabia worked with SNB on developing the translation process, which involved certified translators having experience in the field of finance and banking, highly developed data security and quality control procedures for translation projects within the field of finance.
Challenges We Faced
➀ Managing Regulations Compliance
SNB had to ensure that all translations were in exact accordance with regulations laid as well as international banking compliance standards. Even any wrong translation of any financial jargon, contractual terms, or language would put the organization at the risk of regulatory sanctions.
➁ Dealing with Substantial and Urgent Documents
Given the ongoing process of sending loan documents, audit reports, and regulatory submissions, SNB needed a translation company that could handle huge volumes of documents without delaying the process of approval from the internal team or the regulatory bodies.
➂ Ensuring Data Confidentiality and Security
The banking documents often carry confidential information related to finance, personnel, and corporations. SNB needed a translation process based on confidentiality measures, security of files, and restricted access for the translators in order to prevent the disclosure of client’s data and financial information that could lead to legal risks.
➃ Ensuring Linguistic Accuracy of Terminology
The terminology used in the banking field must be translated accurately between Arabic and English. If there is no equivalent for one term, here is the challenge. SNB requires specialized translators who understand financial and legal terminology to make sure that all terms are translated consistently and accurately.
